The cool-tab extension is a replacement for Alt-Tab. Basically an improved version of the alternate-tab extension by Thomas Bouffon. All of the following improvements can be turned off individuality in the configuration section of extension.js:
- shows only windows of the current workspace
- shows also (non-modal) dialog windows
- maintains aspect ratio of window thumbnails
- shows application name instead of window title. Alternatively shows name and title.
The extension was tested with GnomeShell 3.0.1 and 3.0.2.
Known Problems
- Like alternate-tab this extension gets into problems if there are more windows than fit in one line on the screen. However, its just a graphics bug, you can still switch windows.
